Educity Iskandar Malaysia And Maldives Forge Collaboration In The Fields Of Education

A document exchange ceremony took place today at Jen Hotel, Puteri Harbour between EduCity Iskandar Malaysia Sdn Bhd and the Ministry of Education, the Republic of Maldives today to explore several projects within the scope of education.

The document exchange was represented by the Honourable Minister of Education, Dr Aishath Ali and the Managing Director EduCity Iskandar Malaysia En Wan Ahmad Saifuddin bin Wan Wan Ahmad Radzi.

The historical event was witnessed by Datuk Ir. Khairil Anwar bin Ahmad, President/CEO Iskandar Investment Berhad and Chairman of EduCity Iskandar Malaysia Sdn Bhd and YAB Datuk Onn Hafiz bin Ghazi, the Chief Minister of Johor Darul Takzim.

“We are honoured to be chosen by the Ministry of Education, the Republic of Maldives to further explore several opportunities to enhance their educational offerings to their domestic market. This collaboration will also see an exchange of knowledge and talent development for both their educators and the student market segment. We are also confident to support the enhancement of their educational ecosystem by working together to collaborate on talent development. We hope that through this relationship, it will benefit both the Republic of Maldives and EduCity Iskandar and the state of Johor,” said En Wan Ahmad Saifuddin bin Wan Ahmad Radzi during his speech today.

The event was graced by Datuk Onn Hafiz bin Ghazi, the Chief Minister of Johor Darul Takzim who further provide his support on during the event.

“I look forward to continuing and expanding on these initiatives to ensure Johor’s push to be an education hub has substance and heft. We see this as an investment in a more prosperous and competitive Johor state of the future. The education sector will continue to be nurtured, as it provides a foundation in generating world-class human capital, which is critical for our push for an inclusive and vibrant economic model premised upon the adoption of advanced technology.

I am also pleased to note the role that the various government-linked corporations such as Iskandar Investment Berhad and EduCity Iskandar have played in bringing about collaborations like this despite the disruptions caused by the pandemic over the past few years. This is proof not only of Johor’s continued attractiveness and resilience, including the Iskandar Malaysia region, but also the hard work of our GLCs and government agencies,” said Datuk Onn Hafiz during the event.

This announcement will see both parties exploring projects with the scope of developing a comprehensive talent development programme to enhance the quality of the Republic of Maldives educators, support the enhancement of their educational ecosystem and develop quality and prestigious educational programmes.
