MOH Announces Hospitals And Facilities That Provide Rehabilitation Services For Long COVID

Widely known as a complication of prolonged COVID syndrome (Long COVID) and can occur regardless of the level of COVID-19 infection, the national prevalence rate for individuals experiencing Long COVID symptoms after recovery from category 4 and 5 COVID-19 infection is 65.1 percent, of which 61.2 percent of them experienced more than two symptoms of Long COVID.

According to the Ministry of Health, among the symptoms of Long COVID that are often experienced and can cause an impact on the functionality and daily activities of the affected individual are:

• Fatigue;
• Hard to breathe;
• Cough;
• Joint and muscle pain;
• Difficulty sleeping soundly;
• Weaknesses of members;

• Sensory problems;
• Anxiety;
• Brain Fog; and
• Skin lesions

The Ministry of Health will continue to add more resources and equipment to treat and rehabilitate Long COVID cases as part of a strategy to protect and treat those at high risk of being infected with the COVID-19 virus.
