Sime Darby has appointed Tan Sri Shahrul as its new Independent Director with immediate effect.
He was the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from January 2019 to May 2022. Sharul was the Permanent Representative of Malaysia to the United Nations, New York, United States of America in 2017 and has held many senior positions in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Malaysia since he started his career in 1988, including as Ambassador to Qatar from 2007 to 2010 and Austria from 2010 to 2013.
