MAHB Appoints Former Talent Corp CEO Datuk Johan As Director

Malaysian Airports has confirmed the appointment of Datuk Johan Mahmood Merican as its non-independent and non-executive director with immediate effect.

Datuk Johan is currently the Deputy Secretary-General (Policy) at the Ministry of Finance. Prior to assuming his current position, he was the Director of the National Budget Office, MOF, a position he held from June 2018 to March 2022. He was also appointed as the Deputy Director General (Human Capital) of the Economic Planning Unit (EPU) in June 2016, where he was responsible for planning and overseeing initiatives relating to human capital. He also heads the Civil Service Delivery Unit and the National Transformation 2050 (TN50) unit.

Prior to the above appointments, Datuk Johan was the Chief Executive Officer of Talent Corporation Malaysia Berhad since its inception in January 2011 where he was responsible for driving public-private partnerships to meet the nation’s talent needs. Between 2004 and 2010, he served as the Principal Private Secretary to the minister in the Ministry of Finance and EPU.

Before serving the Government, Datuk Johan was in the private sector for 9 years specialising in corporate finance and accounting.
