The acceptance of the use of Smart Selangor Parking (SSP) application among the people of Selangor is gaining response by the third quarter of 2022. As of July this year, more than 2 million users have downloaded the application (SSP) and the increase in the number of new users shows public acceptance of the use of the application. this has evolved.
According to the Director-General of the Smart Selangor Delivery Unit (SSDU) Strategic Planning Division, Mazlan Bin Mahadi, the increase in users of the application is seen to be increasing when SSDU has implemented a campaign to give free credit to new users during the Caring Selangor Tour Program organized by the Selangor State Government.
“Society is seen to be increasingly accepting the use of digital applications because it makes it easier for them to manage their daily affairs. Apart from assisting in the payment of consumer parking lots, the application also shows a good level of progress to the State of Selangor which wants to make this state a livable smart state in ASEAN by 2025.
With two more tour locations that will take place this July, SSDU estimates that the number of visitors who will download this application will increase due to the location which is very strategic with population density. The next two tour locations will be at Dataran Boulevard, Laman MBPJ Petaling Jaya on 23 July, while the last one will take place at Padang Awam Batu Caves Gombak on 31 July 2022.
Previously users had to buy coupons at certain locations to make car parking payments. This situation is seen as quite difficult as not all stores and even sales representatives are in one area when consumers need coupons for car parking payments.
After the fully digital car parking payment is implemented starting April 1, 2022, it will not only make it easier for users to pay for car parking, but also reduce the amount of paper savings to almost 150 kilograms.
In addition, apart from empowering the Smart Selangor Parking application, SSDU has also built the Citizen E-Payment Platform (CEPat) application, an online payment platform involving license, compound and assessment tax application services in eight local authorities in Selangor.
Both of these applications can be downloaded on the Apple Appstore for iOS device users and also the Google Play Store for Android device users.
