Monash University To Cohost Women Entrepreneurs In Asia (WEA 2022) From July 13 to July 14

Monash University Malaysia has announced that it will be cohosting a virtual conference, Women Entrepreneurs in Asia (WEA 2022) with discourse on how to empower women in vulnerable communities. Aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, the conference will bring together regional and global international experts, academics, policymakers, government authorities, and other key stakeholders to exchange ideas and promote effective cross-collaboration in Asia.

Keynote speakers include Palash K Das, Director Ultra-Poor Graduation (BRAC, Bangladesh) and Dr Zurina binti Abdul Hamid, Director General Department of Women Development (Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development, Malaysia) who will be discussing women’s economic empowerment and opportunities to shape capacity building for women. Over 2 days, the conference will explore challenges in women entrepreneurship, championing the digital space and understanding the gap between culture and entrepreneurship. 

This inaugural virtual conference will be co-hosted by Monash University Malaysia’s School of Business, the Centre for Global Business’ (CGB) South Asia Research Network (SARN), Monash Business School, Division of Organisational and Applied Psychology, University of Nottingham Malaysia, Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS, Indonesia) and the International University – Vietnam National University.
