Rooms at five-star international hotel DoubleTree by Hilton in Shah Alam i-City are fully booked within the first two weeks of opening in August.
The hotel, which is officially open for business today will be officiated by the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah on August 11.
Strategically located at i-City Finance Avenue, the upscale, full-service hotel offers first-rate hospitality, conference facilities and fine dining to cater to the growing number of business and leisure travellers in the Shah Alam area.

Slated to be a game changer in the luxury hotel segment for business travellers to Shah Alam, DoubleTree by Hilton i-City features two signature restaurants – Makan Kitchen and Tosca Trattoria Italiana – and two stylish café lounges – The Koffee and Axis Lounge. The hotel complements the business, recreational, retail and residential components at Finance Avenue in i-City with its top-class meetings, incentives, conferencing and exhibitions (MICE) facilities.
“Moreover, this strong symbiotic relationship will add value to the western corridor of Selangor in driving high value tourist receipts especially from business travellers especially from Singapore, Taiwan and Japan through world-class MICE initiatives,” Tan Sri Lim said.
Adding to that, i-City’s chief technology officer and executive director Ricky Lim said that the smart technology infrastructure comprising integrated certified Tier-3 data center, Super AI Network and dual fiber network provided by i-City, guests are assured of excellent connectivity experience.

DoubleTree by Hilton i-City will add to the vibrancy of i-City Finance Avenue and boost the value proposition of the Finance Avenue, which encapsulates i-City’s vision to be both an integrated mixed development and tourism destination.
With the partial relocation of Maybank headquarters into i-City in April this year, i-City had achieved a 83 per cent take up rate for the smart corporate tower which was renamed Mercu Maybank early this year. Other facilities that will co-exist within the Finance Avenue includes, an International Convention Center (iCC), Hill10 and BeCentral residential towers as well as premium offices and signature retail suites which are earmarked for sale, together the Finance Avenue is slated to draw another source of traffic of 10,000 professional footfall daily into i-City by 2023.
