MPIC Optimistic Malaysia Able To Reach Export Value Of Rubber Gloves Of RM 23.6 Billion This Year

The Ministry of Plantation Industries and Commodities (MPIC) is optimistic that Malaysia will be able to achieve an export value of rubber gloves of RM23.6 billion this year following an increase in the culture of hygiene among the world community.

Its minister Datuk Zuraida Kamaruddin said the need to use rubber gloves as a way of life reflects a clean society and it will simultaneously increase demand for the rubber gloves market.

“The Malaysian Rubber Glove Manufacturers Association (MARGMA) expects that even after the pandemic, the use of rubber gloves will gradually increase by 10 percent.

MARGMA has projected a rubber glove export value of RM23.6 billion this year compared to the RM17 billion recorded in 2019 and a year-on-year demand growth rate for rubber gloves of 10 to 12 percent in 2022.
