Singaporeans Pay Record S$112,001 For COE

Singaporeans who bid and are willing to pay a premium for their Certificate of Entitlement premiums which is basically like a road tax or deed for Malaysians, broke a new record when the highest bid reached S$112,001 for vehicles in Category B.

While Category B is for larger vehicles, Category A is cars for those below 1600cc with horsepower not exceeding 130bhp, this category closed at S$87,889 up from S$80,000 in the last exercise.

Premiums for larger and more powerful cars in Category B rose from S$107,000 recorded in the last round of bidding in July this year. Open Category COEs which can be used on any car but are usually taken up by larger vehicles fell to S$112,001 from S$113,000 previously. Commercial vehicle COE in Category C rose to S$59,090 from S$56,089 this for goods carrying vehicle and buses.

Motorcycles in Category D pay a premium of S$11,001 up from S$11,000 in the last round.
