Apple has issued a warning informing its users that a flaw is allowing hackers to seize control of iPhones, iPads, and Mac computers and has urged users to install the emergency software updates.
The tech giant released patches to plug the vulnerability on Wednesday and Thursday, Apple said hackers knew about the flaw and may be taking advantage of it.” Apple is aware of a report that the issue may have been actively exploited” it said in a statement.
No information was shared on the extent of the issue being exploited, the technical description indicated that a hacker could take advantage of the flaw and gain full access to the device including data. Intruders could then impersonate the device owner and run any software in their name.
Security experts have advised users to immediately update their devices which affects iPhone 6S and later models; several iPad models; all iPad Pro and iPad 2 Air; and Mac’s running on MacOS Monterey.
