Alam Flora was a proud winner of the category ‘Company of the Year in Waste Management 2022 for Excellence in Sustainability & CSR initiatives’ at the Sustainability & CSR Malaysia Awards 2022 held in Mandarin Oriental today. Organised by CSR Malaysia, the award recognised the company’s outstanding achievements in environmental sustainability, particularly its beyond waste management initiatives.
Commenting on the achievement, Azahari Zainal Abidin, Alam Flora Chief Operating Officer said, “This win demonstrates our commitment towards Malaysia’s post-MCO recovery and sustainable growth. As a responsible company in public solid waste management and cleansing services, the win is indeed a recognition towards the quality of our services.
“Going beyond waste management, Alam Flora and its subsidiary, Alam Flora Environmental Solutions (AFES), have diversified our businesses and services with main focus given towards creating a sustainable living environment and in encouraging circular economy,” said Azahari Zainal Abidin.
Winning the coveted award also augurs well with Alam Flora’s ongoing efforts in helping the country to meet the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals by 2030, where great emphasis was given on waste diversion activities.
The award was presented to Azahari Zainal Abidin by YBhg. Dato Ramlan Harun, Secretary General, Ministry of Rural Development.
