Majuperak Sends Group Chief Executive Officer On Garden Leave

Controversy-laden Majuperak Holdings in its Bursa filing has stated that its board had asked Group Chief Executive Officer cum Executive Director, Nizran Bin Noordin, has been given garden leave effective from 2 September 2022 until the expiry of his service contract in 31 October 2022).

During his absence, the board appointed Syed Agil bin Syed Hashim the Chief Financial Officer of MHB as the Acting Group CEO to assume the day-to-day management.

The acting CEO,l graduated with a Master of Business Administration in Finance and a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from International Islamic University Malaysia and is a Chartered Accountant registered with the Malaysian Institute of Accountants. He has over 20 years of experience in senior management, corporate, finance, funding, business planning, and auditing in the accounting and corporate services profession.

In 1995, he joined KPMG as an Audit Senior to perform audits in various industries including manufacturing, trading, oil & gas, hotel, and publicly listed companies. He then joined Multimedia Development Corporation as a Finance Manager for about 6 years before he joined Malaysian Biotechnology Corporation in the year 2006 with his last position as Chief Investment Officer. In 2021, he joined Perak State Development Corporation as Deputy Chief Executive prior to joining MHB on 1 July 2022 as the General Manager of Corporate Finance.
