Boustead Continues To Get MINDEF Contracts, Lands RM15 Million Deal

Boustead Heavy Industries Corporation which owns the much controversial Boustead Naval Shipyard has received an RM15 million contract via its subsidiary BHIC Bofors Asia Sdn Bhd to supply and deliver spares and other jobs for the Ministry of Defense.

The group said the contract is for spares, maintenance, and training for the Royal Malaysian Navy’s Bofors 57MM/L70 Gun for a period of three years from the date of the award.

BHIC Bofors is a joint venture company between BHIC Defence Technologies Sdn Bhd a wholly-owned subsidiary of Boustead Penang Shipyard Sdn Bhd, which in turn is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Company, and BAE Systems Bofors Holdings Sdn Bhd (49%).

BHIC, through BHIC Defence Technologies Sdn Bhd owns a 51% equity interest in BBA. Further, Rozi Baharudin is a Director of BHIC and BBA, and Ahmad Fazril Mohd Fauzi the Chief Financial Officer of BHIC is a Director of BBA.
