Lagenda Properties Sponsors 3 Malaysian Students To London To Win Top Awards In Global English Competition

Affordable township developer, Lagenda Properties, committed almost RM30,000 to sponsor an all-expense paid trip for students Usheytha a/p Rajendran, Ushana a/p Rajendran from SK Marian Convent Ipoh and Sharvika a/p Vijaya Raman from SJK (T) Chettiar, Ipoh, Perak, to make their way to the Teeneagle 2022 Global Finals in London, representing the Malaysia Innovation, Invention and Creativity Association (MIICA).

The three Perak students, who competed against students from 32 other countries proved their mettle and triumphantly brought home one Gold and two Silver awards.

The generous sponsorship initiative by Lagenda is part of its community-focused giveback programme for the welfare of locals where Lagenda’s vision of social responsibility goes beyond just providing communities with quality affordable homes.

To extend these efforts, monthly township-based social programs are curated for the locals to foster community building with education being a key focus area as it is a vital driver of ensuring equal opportunity for all. This sponsorship initiative specifically aims to increase exposure and provide more opportunities for junior achievers to compete against the world’s best, and thereby gaining the ability to network and gain immeasurable experience outside of Malaysia.

According to Dato’ Jimmy Doh, Managing Director of Lagenda Properties, “Our focus is on giving young learners from underprivileged backgrounds a springboard that will propel them to a more wholesome future with additional exposure. Rewarding our children’s dedication and hard work is something we believe is crucial to their personal development including building their confidence levels amongst their peers. Today’s generation of youth are a formidable force, and we want to nurture their growth and drive them to success in every way we can.”

“Our vision for education includes engaging with and providing inclusive opportunities for all students and is driven by our commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4 in providing Quality Education for everyone. At Lagenda Properties, we realise it is our responsibility to contribute to our nation’s development through education as it shapes the progression of our youth. To that end, it is imperative that we ensure all students have equal access to learning experiences as the youth of today are the leaders of tomorrow,” Doh continued.

The Teeneagle Global Finals is a prestigious international English competition for qualified students globally where participants are required to spend 8 days in London competing in various fields such as Knowledge Quiz, Writing Challenges, Spelling Bee, Persuasive Speaking, Talent Show, and Short Film.
