SELGATE Healthcare Signs MoU With Dawjie For Senior Living Complex

SELGATE has entered into a joint venture agreement today with Dawjie to develop and run a senior citizen care complex. 

The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will entail the establishment of the Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV), which is currently known as Selcare Senior Living, or another name which will be decided upon final decisions by both parties later.  

This merger is to look into a joint exploration to extend SELGATE Healthcare & Dawjie’s services to encourage health and wellness among the senior populace in Malaysia through their subsidiaries namely Selcare Senior Living and Pertubuhan Darul Insyirah respectively. Dawjie Sdn Bhd is an organization responsible for handling, researching,  planning, and developing endowment (waqaf) properties for the benefit of the Pertubuhan  Darul Insyirah through the State Islamic Religious Council. 

This 3-storey elderly care complex located in Bangi is the first syariah-compliant senior living complex in Malaysia that will house 130 beds, lecture hall, dining area, dementia room, and guest rooms among others. Through this collaboration, Dawjie will provide expertise in terms of operations of the complex, employment as well as education modules, while administered by Selcare Senior Living.  

Speaking at the ceremony, Mohd Hisham said, “SELGATE as a whole is not focusing on  healthcare like GP and dental clinics only, but we also care about the welfare of the  elderly.” 

He added that SELGATE strives to continue bring value to the assisted living industry by making healthcare and quality living costs affordable. He described this partnership and the programmes planned for this project will be beneficial as it indicates the start to improve the quality of services provided to the elderly.
