Bank Negara’s International Reserves Down To US$104.5 Billion As At October 14

Bank Negara’s international reserves fell to US$104.5 billion on October 14, down from US$106.1 billion on September 30, 2022.

“The reserves position is sufficient to cover 5.5 months of goods and services imports and is 1.1 times the total short-term foreign debt,” the central bank stated in a statement.

According to Bank Negara, the primary components of international reserves include foreign currency reserves (US$92.6 billion), IMF reserves position (US$1.3 billion), special drawing rights (US$5.5 billion), gold (US$2.1 billion), and other reserve assets (US$3.0 billion).
