The Toyota Dream Car Art Contest Returns From October 31 To February 14, 2023

The 16th Toyota Dream Car Art Contest (DCAC) is set to return on October 31 with the theme “Your Dream Car”, aimed at motivating children to share their ideas on the future of mobility by dreaming up and drawing their ideal car. The national initiative by UMW Toyota Motor (UMWT) will see the top three winners from each category qualify to compete in the World Contest evaluation to be held in Japan in 2023.

The DCAC contest is a worldwide drawing competition held by Toyota with the aim of motivating children from all corners of the globe to visualise the future of mobility while encouraging and inspiring creativity among the next generation through their art. The previous DCAC competition held in 2022 received a total of 531,692 artworks from 78 countries and regions across the globe, highlighting the far-reaching impact of the competition.

The national level DCAC will take place between October 31 2022 to February 14 2023 and is open to children in three age categories – children aged 7 years old and under, children aged 8 – 11 years old, and finally 12 – 15 years old. The top three winners from each age category will be notified of their qualification for the World Contest by February 27 2023.

Giving children creative freedom over the medium of their choice, the artworks can be submitted as a hand drawing, scanned photograph or in the form of digital art. More importantly, the artwork should express the child’s dream or design toward the future of mobility while answering the question of whether the mobility depicted enables the child’s dream to come true. The artwork should also be presented from an original viewpoint while also focusing on composition, coloring and technique.

The top three winners from each age category of the national level competition will walk away with an Apple Ipad Mini, Nintendo Switch and Apple Airpods respectively, while those placing 4th and 5th in all age categories will receive a RM200 voucher each. The top nine winning artworks will go on to compete in the World Contest that will be held in Japan.
