Dato’ Nor Azmie bin Diron has been appointed as Economic Planning Unit Director General under the Prime Minister’s Department effective today (Nov 14).
The appointment of Nor Azmie, 53, is based on his qualifications and experience throughout holding several positions in various fields such as financial management as well as macroeconomics and privatisation roles in the Selangor State Secretary’s Administration. His last position was as Deputy Director General (Macro), Economic Planning Unit, in the Prime Minister’s Department.
He has served in the public service for 27 years as an Administrative and Diplomatic Officer beginning 25 January 1995 and has a Bachelor’s Degree (Honours) in Economics from the University of Malaya and a Master’s Degree in Information Technology Management from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia.
In a statement, Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Mohd Zuki Ali said he believes Nor Azmie’s experience and credibility will augur well to achieve EPU’s vision as a leader who stands by being inclusive, progressive and sustainable towards socio-economic development of Mslsydis and for the prosperity and well-being of the people.
