GE15: Covid Positive Voters Are Not Allowed To Use Public Transportation

Voters of the 15th General Election (GE15) who are positive for Covid-19 are not allowed to ride in public transportation including Grab on voting day, November 19.

That matter is one of several general measures of the voting process issued by the Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH) to ensure the process runs safely and reduce the risk of infection to other voters as well as staff at the polling station.

According to MOH, Covid-19 positive voters are also advised not to stop at any places either before or after voting and immediately go home after casting their ballots.

“The use of face masks is mandatory for all positive cases of Covid-19 and is strongly encouraged for other voters.

“Covid-19 positive voters must comply with safe physical isolation while physical isolation for other voters is strongly encouraged,” it said.

Based on the general advice to GE voters that was also shared, voters are advised to ensure that their hands are cleaned with hand sanitiser at the identified polling place and it is also recommended to bring their own hand sanitiser.

“Health workers will be stationed at polling centers to help smooth the voting process for Covid-19 positive voters,” it said.
