EP Manufacturing Hires ex-Mercedes China Strategist As New Acting CEO

EP Manufacturing Berhad which is involved heavily in the automotive industry has appointed automotive product specialist Ms. Lim Sim Yee as the Group’s acting Chief Executive Officer.

Ms. Lim, who was previously involved in developing Mercedes-Benz’s market presence in China, is set to play a key role in strengthening EPMB across all of its business verticals. EP said her expertise in business development and product strategy will also be instrumental as EPMB pursues its electric vehicle and carbon credit ambitions.

46-year-old Ms Lim has previously served for over a decade in Beijing Mercedes-Benz Sales Services Co. Ltd under different roles. BMBS is a joint venture between Daimler AG and BAIC Motor.

Her last position in BMBS was as the Director of Product Strategy. Under the role, she was responsible for evaluating China’s premium automotive market development and defining Mercedes-Benz’s product portfolio and offerings for China, among others.

EPMB Executive Chairman Mr. Hamidon bin Abdullah said: “The Board strongly believes that Ms. Lim will be the best fit for the Group. EPMB is in a fast-growing stage and we need capable hands at the top to drive the Group forward. We hope to leverage on Ms. Lim’s past experiences in China as we embrace new business opportunities and expand our existing operations.”

Ms. Lim graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (Communication Studies) from the University of South Australia in 1999. She also holds a Master’s Degree in Media Studies from the University of Trier, Germany.

“It is a privilege to be given the opportunity to lead EPMB as the acting CEO. I wish to thank Mr. Hamidon and the Board for the trust placed in me. The Group has huge potential and it is on the right track towards a stronger and sustainable growth. I am committed to achieving EPMB’s immediate targets and will set the direction towards achieving the Group’s long-term strategic goals,” said Ms. Lim.
