The public relations industry during its annual award ceremony honored two distinguished individuals with the PRCA Leadership Award and PRCA Community Award.
Prof Haji Mohd Said Bani CM Din, PRCA Malaysia President, “ The founder of MERCY Malaysia, Tan Sri Dr. Jemilah Mahmood, was honoured with the PRCA Malaysia Leadership Award 2022 for her exemplary efforts and resolute leadership in
humanitarian aid. Tan Sri Dr. Jemilah has become the driving force that led MERCY Malaysia to be recognised globally with the belief that good governance and inclusive communication is fundamental.
At the same award ceremony, the prolific singer and Malaysia’s best-selling artiste, Dato’ Seri Siti Nurhaliza was honoured with the PRCA Malaysia Community Award 2022 in recognition of her efforts in promoting unity and harmony among communities through her philanthropic contributions and music. Her philanthropic deeds to societal causes include setting up a fund called Dana PKP during the height of the pandemic to help the frontliners and Malaysians impacted by the pandemic.
Hosted for the 14th time, the MPRA 2022 celebrated the tremendous work of organisations, public relations consultants, and in-house practitioners from both private and public sectors and universities as well as individuals. Stefanie Braukmann, Chief Judge and Honourary Secretary of PRCA Malaysia, said, “Recognising the most outstanding and inspiring work in public relations across multiple industries and categories, the MPRAs are kept relevant by continuously updating their award
categories in line with current industry trends.
