Ministry Of Communications And Digital And Telco Discuss Lowering Prices

The Ministry of Communications and Digital is holding discussions with telco companies to lower the price of telecommunication services in this country.

Its minister, Fahmi Fadzil said, he has asked the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (SKMM) and telco companies to conduct a study to meet the aspirations of the people who want cheaper telecommunications services.

“I am discussing with SKMM and telco what we can do to reduce costs. Many young people hope that internet and line prices will be cheaper, so I ask them to study what we can do now.

In addition, Fahmi said, he is also researching the best steps that can be taken to improve service quality and overcome the 4G and 5G network access issues faced in some areas of the country.

“We are talking about 5G, there are other countries that have started talking about 6G. So we have to move faster and as a minister I have to look into what can be done to help the process,” he said.

In the meantime, Fahmi reminded content creators on various social media platforms to respect the laws of this country when creating.

“There are limits. We celebrate the right to speak, we celebrate the right to express ourselves but we need to respect the law because it is in the Rukun Negara… The Supremacy of the Constitution, the Rule of Law,” he said.
