Only 1.9% Took Second Booster, MOH Advises Get Jab In View Of China

Tan Sri Noor Hisham Abdullah, the Ministry of Health’s Deputy General has advised those in the high-risk and frontliners to get the vaccination booster shot in view of the development taking place in China.

He noted that there are still many in Malaysia who have yet to take the booster shots, according to records only 49% have received the first booster while a mere 1.9% have taken the second booster.

Although the number of cases in the country is low, the preventive measures are to ensure the situation flares up when Chinese travelers start making their outbound trips to the county.

As of now, Japan, the UK, and the US have imposed additional curbs on arrivals from China further heightening the fear of another wave. It was also reported that many Chinese nationals have yet to get their vaccination shots.
