YTL Power Up After Announcing Collaboration With TNB To Supply Electricity To Singapore

YTL Power International Bhd shares were up 1.5 sen to 74.5 sen each, after the company announced a collaboration with a unit of Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) to supply 100 megawatts of electricity from Malaysia to Singapore via the newly upgraded interconnector.

As at the time of writing on Tuesday (January 31), 1.6 million shares in YTL Power were traded.

YTL Power’s wholly owned subsidiary YTL PowerSeraya Pte Ltd was awarded an electricity importer licence for Malaysia on a two-year trial by the Energy Market Authority of Singapore. It would purchase electricity from TNB Pasir Gudang Energy Sdn Bhd, a wholly owned special vehicle of TNB Power Generation Sdn Bhd, which is in turn wholly owned by TNB.
