MBM Resources has announced the appointment of Aqil Ahmad Azizudin as its new chairman following the resignation of Datuk Dr Aminar Rashid from the auto group.
Datuk Aminar was appointed to the board in 2019 and has been well-established in the automotive industry, prior to joining MBM he was the Group Advisor New Business Development of Ingress Corporation Berhad, was also the President & Chief Executive Officer of Perusahaan Otomobil Kedua Sdn Bhd (Perodua) from 2013 to 2018, Managing Director of Perodua from 2009 to 2012 Executive Director of Strategic Marketing Group, UMW Toyota Motor Sdn Bhd from 2007 to 2009 Executive Director of Strategic Planning Group, UMW Toyota Motor Sdn Bhd in 2006 Executive Director, Sales Group of UMW Toyota Motor Sdn Bhd from 2004 to 2005 Director, Human Capital Group of UMW Toyota Motor Sdn Bhd from 2001 to 2003 General Manager, HR and Administration of UMW Toyota Motor Sdn Bhd from 1996 to 2001Manager, Property, and Facilities of UMW Toyota Motor Sdn Bhd from 1992 to 1996
His successor, Aqil Ahmad Azizuddin is no stranger to the MBM Resources Berhad Groupas he built his career in Daihatsu (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd since 1991 where he held various senior level positions including Managing Director between 2000 to 2008. He was also previously on the board of MBM Resources Berhad between 2001 to 2017 and has also served on the Boards of several subsidiaries within the group.
Aqil is also currently the Chairman of Med-Bumikar MARA Sdn Bhd and Daihatsu (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd. He is also a Board Member in Perusahaan Otomobil Kedua Sdn Bhd and Perodua Sales Sdn Bhd
