LGMS Berhad cited as ‘Leader’ in Strategic, Technical Security Services by International Research Firm ISG

The Information Services Group (ISG) of the United States recently released its latest ‘Provider Lens’ Quadrant Study (Global and Region) and has named LGMS Berhad as a ‘Leader’ in the cybersecurity areas of Strategic Security Services and Technical Security Services.

ISG today is a leading international technology research and advisory firm and has a strong reputation for, among others, its market intelligence coupled with technology research and analysis. The ISG Provider Lens Quadrant studies, in turn, provide insightful regional and global views of the top players in the defined country, region or globally. Insights include the strengths, competitive differentiators and unique selling points of leading service providers serving each market, while ISG advisors use the reports to validate their own market knowledge and make recommendations.

For Strategic Security Services, LGMS was described by ISG as having “a high level of cybersecurity experience and accreditation, having delivered professional cybersecurity services to local, regional, and international clients across a broad range of industries across Asia.”

Besides LGMS, other ‘Leaders’ cited by ISG include IBM, Accenture, KPMG, Deloitte and PWC.

ISG said that Strategic Security Services encompass security managers (CISOs) ‘broadening the aperture of external events within a risk management plan, with risk quantification becoming a tool for CISOs to prioritise what to do and where to invest to manage risks and protect the enterprise’.

LGMS’ strengths were described by ISG as having a broad range of cybersecurity services, strong cybersecurity expertise with the company serving as a ‘neutral professional cybersecurity provider’, and not selling any other conflicting auxiliary services or software, such as staff recruitment, third-party products, or solutions that contradicts its core beliefs.”

LGMS is certainly well known in this field, particularly since it has more than 60 experts in penetration testing and digital forensics backed by decades of industrial experience. LGMS has more than a thousand local and global clients including almost all of Malaysia’s major banking, financial and insurance entities, coupled with blue chip companies such as Sunway Group, Measat, DRB-HICOM, AirAsia Group, DIGI, and Axiata.

This fact certainly attests to LGMS being cited as a ‘Leader’ in Technical Security Services, with ISG reaffirming that “LGMS delivers cybersecurity services to local, regional, and international clients across a broad range of Asian industries. It offers a comprehensive range of penetration testing services to its clients in Asia.”

Late last year, LGMS was recognised by the Asian Oceanian Computing Industry Organisation (ASOCIO) with its Tech Excellence award for cybersecurity.

This development follows on from the heels of LGMS having been recognised by Cybersecurity Malaysia (CSM) as the country’s ‘Cybersecurity Company of the Year’ with LGMS Executive Chairman Fong Choong Fook himself receiving the ‘Cybersecurity Professional of the Year’ award. (Pictured above in centre with his Senior Leadership Team.)

In Technical Security Services, ISG indicated that LGMS’ strengths are two-pronged:

  • Strong cybersecurity experience and accreditation: LGMS specialises in IT penetration testing, IT Security assessments, application security assessment and ISO27001 audit and implementation. It also specialises in IT security training, PCI DSS compliance audit, PCI DSS vulnerabilities scanning, and computer crime investigation and forensics. Its penetration testing experts, cybersecurity consultants, and digital forensics experts are certified and have decades of industrial experience
  • Comprehensive range of penetration testing services: These include vulnerability assessment, web application and web services penetration testing, mobile application and wireless network penetration testing, and source code review. The services also include CREST Penetration Testing, Red Team Engagement, Intelligence Led Penetration Testing, Cyber Drill and Blue Team Exercise Simulation and IoT Device Security and SST Security Assessment.
