Kitacon Looks To Overcome Labour Shortage

Construction services provider, Kumpulan Kitacon Berhad for Q4FYE2022, recorded revenue of RM137.6 million, which translated to an 18.6% increase in revenue in comparison to the immediate preceding quarter. In addition, profit before tax and profit after tax clocked in at RM9.4 million and RM6.6 million respectively.

For FYE2022, the full-year revenue, PBT, and PAT were RM488.5 million, RM55.3 million, and RM41.9 million respectively.

Managing director Tan Ah Kee said, “Kitacon ended 2022 on a steady note. Despite the many challenges faced by the construction industry, we have weathered them and continued to deliver on our performance. In particular, on the main issue of labour shortages, Kitacon had in June 2022, received approval for 500 foreign construction workers. As of 14 February 2023, 257 workers have arrived with the remainder expected to arrive in the second quarter of 2023.

Since listing the group has secured three new orders with a total contract value of RM379.2 million comprising two new residential projects and one new industrial project with a contract value of RM151.4 million and RM227.8 million. Bringing the total outstanding order book to RM1.2 billion.
