Selangor Menteri Besar can take pleasure in knowing that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim who is also his party leader took inspiration from some of the initiatives introduced in the state for Budget 2023.
For example, the Iltizam Selangor Sihat Program has been used as a model for the Unity Government to introduce a Civil Medicine Scheme. MB Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari who was happy with the matter said that the new initiative introduced by PM Anwar allows for partnership in its implementation. “Not only the Civil Medical Scheme is an inspiration but many more such as driving test fees for motorcycle licenses which have been initiated first in Selangor.
In his tabling of the country’s biggest budget of RM388.1 billion, observers noticed several programs in Selangor were used as models by the Unity Government, especially on programs for the B40 category, like housing, medical, transportation, and education.
During the budget presentation, Anwar informed that the government will introduce a Civil Medical Scheme specifically for the poor to get health treatment at clinics and private general practitioners. According to Anwar, the scheme implemented in Selangor allocated RM120 million.
