Worldwide Holdings Cyberiew and Kumpulan Perangsang Selangor, Global Energy Storage is working on a project to build an RM100 million floating solar farm on Lake Cyberjaya.

Led by Sellagor state-owned companies, the existence of floating solar farms will enhance the aesthetic value and capabilities of the smart city, said Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.

He said a unique and smart approach to solar energy development by Worldwide Holdings Berhad also enhances Cyberjaya’s brand and reputation.

Adding, he said the initiative could turn the city into a digital business centre that offers reliable and stable green energy solutions.

“I greatly appreciate the initiatives shown by Worldwide Holdings and all related companies to develop and leverage green energy solutions in Cyberjaya, through power generation from floating solar farms to be developed at Tasik Cyberjaya,” he said.

This comes after the parties signed four MoUs with several companies to collaborate in the development of solar energy projects in Selangor.

The development of the free power plant project that will generate energy from the floating solar farm at Tasik Cyberjaya is under the Corporate Green Energy Programme at a cost of about RM100 million to start this year.
