CIMB Introduces Mandatory SecureTAC For All FPX Transactions Of Above RM100

CIMB Bank has introduced mandatory SecureTAC authorisation through its CIMB Clicks App for all FPX transactions of RM100 and above effective March 2023. This it said was part of the migration exercise to SecureTAC and to completely replace SMS TAC authorisations by mid-2023.

The bank has urged all users who have yet to install the app to d so from official app stores and turn on notifications under Settings, to be able to approve transactions via SecureTAC. Users can approve or reject online FPX transactions of RM100 and above using SecureTAC.

Effendy Shahul Hamid, Chief Executive Officer, Group Consumer and Digital Banking of CIMB Group said, “This latest initiative underscores our continued strong commitment to take all necessary measures to safeguard our customers’ interests.” “We will continue to place security at the forefront, and ensure our customers are able to bank and transact with us in the safest and most convenient of ways,” he added.

These measures include the implementation of the Lock Clicks ID feature, single registered device for CIMB Clicks authentication, call verification for first-time app logins and mandatory SecureTAC authorisation for CIMB Clicks Web transactions of RM100 and above. Additionally, the SecureTAC feature will soon be made available on the CIMB OCTO App as well.
