2 Million Vehicles Per Day To Hit Plus Highway For Aidilfitri, Here Are Peak Days To Avoid

Highway concessionaire PLUS is anticipating approximately 2 million vehicles to hit the highways per day during the Aidilfitri holiday break.

This is the massive exodus from the cities as many Muslim folks will be looking to spend their Raya with their family without the curbs of Covid 19 like the past year. PLUS COO Datuk Zakaria Ahmad Zabidi said among the peak days that could see an inflow of traffic are April 20, April 21, April 24, and April 25. As for the return journeys after Raya would be April 29, May 1, and May 4 to May 7.

So in order to avoid the traffic or timing once self, the days chosen to travel should be any day before these dates. he also advised road users to travel earlier in the day to avoid getting caught during peak days.

Separately, PLUS is taking various measures to ensure convenient travel including safety aspects in this light it will be working with the Police and Road Transport Department. Emergency Response teams will be placed at strategic locations with over 500 personnel on standby.

Tollbooth personals will be elevated as well, PLUS will allocate 6000 staff along the highway booths including for rest areas, laybys and highway mainline to assist travelers.
