TNB Advices Consumers To Take Safety, Saving Measures Before Leaving Home For Raya

Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) advises consumers to take safety and savings measures before leaving their homes for vacation or returning to their hometowns in conjunction with this week’s Aidilfitri celebrations.

There are several tips that can be practiced to ensure the safety of the premises and be energy wise, thus contributing to efforts to reduce the carbon footprint, and also in line with TNB’s sustainability strategy and commitment to Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG).

The relevant steps are:

  • The switch of electrical equipment that is not in use should be closed and the plug removed to prevent the electric current from continuing to flow;
  • The electrical equipment to be installed is in good condition and the motor in the motorised electrical equipment is running smoothly;
    All sockets are in good condition and not overloaded with adapters;
  • If it is necessary to turn on the residential lights that are left behind, please consider the use of a timer so that they are not lit 24 hours a day; and
  • Unwind the extension wire completely to prevent it from overheating during use.

Users are also advised to test the Residual Current Circuit Breaker (PLAB) or Residual Current Circuit Breaker (RCCB) in their respective homes, to detect if there is any anomaly. This is a practice that is best done once a month. More information to find out how to test PLAB can be accessed on the website www.tnb.com.my or Facebook TNB Careline.

Consumers can contact the TNB Customer Service Center at 15454 or Facebook TNB CareLine for assistance in the event of a power outage.
