Bursa Malaysia ended the morning trading session lower in cautious mode, along with the weaker regional market sentiment, ahead of the Hari Raya Aidilfitri holidays, a dealer said.
At 12.30pm on Thursday (April 20), the FBM KLCI was 5.01 points lower at 1,420.06, from Wednesday’s close at 1,425.07.
The barometer index opened 3.57 points firmer at 1,428.64, its highest so far in the day, and hit a low of 1,419.10 in the morning session.
Market breadth was negative, as decliners surpassed gainers 393 to 262, while 392 counters were unchanged, 1,252 untraded, and 18 others suspended.
Turnover stood at 1.27 billion units worth RM726.40 million.
