Johor Declares Additional One Day Holiday

The state government announced this Monday as an additional holiday for the people of Johor in conjunction with Aidilfitri.

The additional public holiday was approved by the Sultan of Johor Sultan Ibrahim Iskandar, said Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi.

“With the consent of Sultan Ibrahim, I am pleased to inform you that the Johor State Government has agreed to declare the date 24 April 2023, which is this Monday, as an Additional General Holiday.

“This matter is in line with Sections 8 and 9 of the Holidays Act 1951 (Act 369),” he said in a media statement today.

Previously, the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, announced a public holiday in conjunction with Aidilfitri on 21 April 2023, which is Friday or 24 April 2023, Monday, depending on the announcement of the date of 1 Syawal to be made by the Keeper of the Great Seal of the Kings, today.

Meanwhile, Onn Hafiz also took the opportunity to wish Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri, Maaf Zahir dan Batin to all residents who celebrate Aidilfitri.

“Be careful on the road and hopefully return home safely to each other,” he said.
