The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) remained higher at midday on continuous buying support in most heavyweights.
At 12.30pm, the benchmark index rose 0.37%, or 5.21 points, to 1,421.16 from last Friday’s close of 1,415.95.
The index opened 0.26 of-a-point better at 1,416.21 and moved between 1,415.92 and 1,422.22 throughout the morning session.
However, the market breadth was marginally negative with decliners outpacing gainers 359 to 350, while 365 counters were unchanged, 1,165 untraded and 18 others suspended.
Turnover stood at 1.74 billion units valued at RM717.38 million.
