CelcomDigi Assures No Disruption To 5G Services With SSA Termination

CelcomDigi Berhad which has terminated its previous respective Share Subscription Agreements (“SSA”) signed in November 2022 with DNB, effective 3 May 2023 said the move will not affect the 5G services the operator currently provides.

This follows the Government’s announcement on DNB no longer being a monopoly provider of 5G services in the country, however, the earlier process to subscribe to equity in DNB through the respective SSA is now rendered void said CelcomDigi.

The biggest mobile network company added the termination of the respective SSA will clear the path for the telco to participate in any new process, including Equity participation, together with the industry.

It also assured the change will not have any impact on its 5G services. Customers currently on 5G connections may continue to enjoy the service, according to ongoing product offers.
