GuocoLand has announced key leadership appointments in its management, including the appointment of a new managing director effective 18 May 2023.
The group appointed Pn. Noorbaizura Hermeyney as Managing Director of the Company as Mr. Tan Wee Bee, the incumbent Group Managing Director of the Company, will be stepping down with effect from 18 May 2023 to pursue other personal interests.
Pn. Noorbaizura brings with her close to 20 years of working experience which is primarily focused on investment and asset management, including experience in spearheading the real estate portfolios for public listed real estate investment trusts
and government-linked companies. Prior to her appointment as Managing Director of the Company, Pn. Noorbaizura served as the Chief Executive Officer of GLM REIT Management Sdn Bhd, the Manager of Tower Real Estate Investment Trust. Tower REIT is a real estate investment trust listed on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad. It has three prime office buildings in Kuala Lumpur with close to one million square feet of Grade A office space. GLM REIT Management Sdn Bhd is a subsidiary of the Company.
In addition to the appointment of Pn. Noorbaizura, Ms. Yeap Yen Yen will be promoted from Financial Controller to Chief Financial Officer of the Company. Ms. Yeap joined the Company in 2018, and has more than 18 years of experience, having served in several positions in the areas of financial and management reporting, treasury operations, audit, and reporting compliance.
Mr. Lim Eng Tui will be appointed Senior General Manager for Development. Mr. Lim has more than 19 years of experience in property development. He will be responsible for product development, project management, facilities management as well as sales and marketing of the Company’s development projects. Mr. Cheng Hsing Yao, Chief Executive Officer of GuocoLand Limited, who is also a non-executive Director and non-independent Director of the Company, said, “Noorbaizura is an exceptional leader with vision, method, and diligence.
