NanoMalaysia Berhad (NMB) today (May 15) held the launch of two product certification schemes, NANOTrust and GRAPHENEVerify at Sunway Putra Hotel. These schemes under the NANOVerify Programme will facilitate and expedite the growth of nanotechnology in Malaysia by enhancing consumers’ trust in products containing nanotechnology.
The NANOTrust and GRAPHENEVerify Product Certification Schemes, under the NANOVerify Programme, offer SMEs with nano-containing products the opportunity to secure a credible seal of trust for wider market penetration, both locally and abroad, but also contribute to the creation of a dynamic and progressive nanotechnology ecosystem, as they are transcribed from the National Nanotechnology Policy and Strategy 2021-2030 (DSNN), to solve various challenges and propel Malaysia’s nanotechnology and graphene industries forward.
The NANOTrust and GRAPHENEVerify Product Certification Schemes are aligned with Malaysia MADANI’s pillars of sustainability, innovation, and trust to drive nanotechnology as one of the nation’s engines of growth. Both schemes emphasise the placement of quality nano-products in the market while addressing the concerns over product claims.
This initiative is also aligned with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Growth (SDG) number 9 in building a resilient infrastructure and fostering innovation. Higher-technology industries, which include nanotechnology, are shown to be more resilient in crises compared to their lower-tech counterparts.
