PPB Group has announced that Tan Sri Datuk Oh Siew Nam, 84, Non-independent Non-executive Director and Chairman of the group is retiring effective 17 May 2023.
Tan Sri Datuk Oh was appointed to the Board on 2 March 1988. He was the Managing Director of the Company from 1993 to 1999 and Executive Chairman from 2004 to 2008.
He was the Assistant Controller of Telecom Malaysia for five years before joining FFM Berhad (“FFM”) Group in 1968. Tan Sri Datuk Oh was the Managing Director of FFM from 1982 to 2002 and Executive Chairman from 2002 to 2006. He was also the Chairman of PPB Oil Palm Berhad from 2004 to 2007. Tan Sri Datuk Oh was a Board member of Bank Negara Malaysia from 1989 to 2015, and had served as a Member of the Capital Issues Committee and the National Economic Consultative Council II (MAPEN II).
He holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Canterbury, New Zealand.
