In light of this, the local IT business partners and distributors are continuing to act as a strategic extension of IBM Malaysia’s sales force, playing a crucial part in expanding the reach of the company across the nation and driving growth across diverse industries, the company said in a statement to Business Today.
“At IBM, we strongly believe that partner ecosystem is one of the most powerful forces in technology. It is all about the different partners we work together to create a massive opportunity to bring solutions to market faster and help achieve more collective success,” said IBM Malaysia Managing Director and Technology Leader, Catherine Lian.
Catherine added that the IBM Partner Plus initiative, launched earlier this year, has successfully revolutionised how IBM interacts with its business partners, promising unparalleled access to IBM resources, customised support and benefits to bolster their technical and sales expertise and expedite time to market.
This initiative is key to IBM’s hybrid cloud and AI strategy: “This initiative is central to IBM’s hybrid cloud and AI strategy. With the new model, we’ve doubled the amount of brand-specialised resources that support our business partners, and we increased the technical resources supporting our partners by 35 percent.”
“We have technical experts who work side-by-side with our partners, and we have our ecosystem technical specialists who can come in and develop a proof of concept that helps our partners demonstrate to their clients what a technical solution would actually look like,” she added.
“At its core, it is all about helping our partners to be even more successful and deliver even more value to clients.”

Recently, IBM celebrated significant milestones in its journey together at the annual IBM Malaysia Partners Awards event, aptly themed ‘Winning Together’, held at Le Meridien Hotel, Kuala Lumpur (pic).
The awards recognised IBM’s valued business partners and distributors who have demonstrated outstanding results in innovation and growth with IBM under 22 different categories.
