KTMB Providing Four Additional Trains In Conjunction With Aidiladha

Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) is providing an additional four electric train units (ETS) for the route between Kuala Lumpur KL Sentral Station to Padang Besar and KL-Sentral to Butterworth in conjunction with the Aidiladha Holiday.

According to KTMB, the addition involves train ETS 9283 from Padang Besar – KL Sentral and train 9286 from KL Sentral – Padang Besar, as well as train ETS 9181 from Butterworth – KL Sentral and the opposite destination.

“These additional trains will operate for six days from June 27 to July 2. A total of 24 additional services are offered for the specified period.

“This makes the total number of ETS services that will operate during that period as much as 36 trips per day, compared to 32 trips per day on a normal day,” KTMB said in a statement here today.

The statement informed that the additional train tickets will go on sale on June 1 starting at 10am with a total of 3,780 tickets each offered for the route involved.

“The addition of this ETS train is to accommodate the high demand for train tickets during the festive season and to avoid traffic jams every time people return to their hometowns.

“This additional train offers 1,260 tickets per day making the total number of tickets offered 7,560 including business class coaches,” according to the statement.

KTMB also advises the public to purchase tickets through the KTMB Mobile (KITS) application which can be downloaded via Play Store, Appstore and App Gallery or purchase directly on KTMB’s official website.

Users are also advised to plan their journey and make purchases in advance to enjoy more economical flexi fares and avoid buying tickets at the last minute.
