Maybank And Association Of Banks Congratulate New BNM Governor

Maybank and the Association of Banks in Malaysia, have extended their good wishes to Datuk Shaik Abdul Rasheed Abdul Ghaffour on his appointment as the new Governor of Bank Negara Malaysia.

Datuk Abdul Rasheed will replace Tan Sri Shasiah effective 1 July 2023 who has completed her 5-year tenure at the Central Bank.

Speaking on behalf of the association, Maybank GCEO and Chairman of the Association Dato Khairussaleh Ramli said “As a true home-grown talent, throughout his career with the central bank, he has provided expertise to drive the nation’s economy by playing key roles in developing high-impact financial blueprints. His extensive understanding of the domestic, regional and global economy is a huge advantage for our country, and we firmly believe that the banking industry will continue to thrive under his leadership. In this regard, we look forward to continuing to work closely with Datuk Abdul Rasheed and the team at BNM.
