MDEC Secures RM8.3 Billion Investment Commitment From London Tech Week

The Ministry of Communication and Digital through MDEC has managed to secure an investment commitment of RM8.3 billion during the investment mission to London Tech Week 2023.

In a statement, the agency said it achieved this through MOU signed with International Data Centre Authority (IDCA); Partnership Exchange with Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council (CWEIC); Partnership Exchange with UK-ASEAN Business Council (UKABC), and MoU between Sunway Group and Wippd.

Others include investment announcements by nine prominent companies in the United Kingdom namely Access Group, Dataswyft, TPP, Activpayroll, Ekco, Yondr Group, GBG, Hamilton Barnes, and MMOB. MDEC said the positive response shows the international communities confidence of the robust framework of Malaysia Digital (MD), a national strategic initiative driving the digital economy that is aligned with the vision of Malaysia MADANI.

As part of this mission, YB Fahmi Fadzil together with Ts. Mahadhir Aziz, the Chief Executive Officer of MDEC conducted a roundtable session with esteemed business figures and executives to discuss the MD initiative, in addition to giving a keynote speech titled “Opportunities in ASEAN” at London Tech Week 2023 and participating as panellist in the “Global Tech Stage” session.
