MBSJ Announces Car Free Day On July 9

The Subang Jaya City Council said it will reorganise the Selamat Pagi Subang Jaya Car-Free Day programme, now renamed Hari Tanpa Kenderaan (HTK), according to Mayor Datuk Mohd Fauzi Mohd Yatim.

He said the programme, which will be held on the second Sunday of every month, will commence on July 9 at Jalan SS 16/1, in front of the Aeon Big Subang Jaya and Subang Parade shopping centres, from 7am to 11am.

“I hope the community will increasingly participate in HTK, so the message we are trying to convey can reach them.

“Our main goal is not only a car-free day via the programme, but also to engage in recreational activities with family through the activities we provide over the weekend,” he said at a media briefing after the MBSJ meeting yesterday.

Mohd Fauzi added the activities include the Endurance Challenge cycling championship, the Subang Jaya Run Bike championship, street soccer competitions, and aerobic exercises, among others.

“We will also have safety exhibitions by the Subang Jaya district police headquarters (IPD) and a dengue-eradicating exhibition by the MBSJ Health Department.

“All Subang Jaya residents and those living in the surrounding areas are invited to participate and enliven HTK,” he said
