Honda Recalling 1.3 Million Vehicles Worldwide For Rear Camera Issue

Honda Motor is carrying out a worldwide recall of 1.3 million vehicles due to a potential problem with the rear camera, according to the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

The recall affects certain models, including the Odyssey, Pilot, and Passport, manufactured between 2018 and 2023. The rearview camera image may not be displayed on the screen due to a faulty communication coaxial cable connector.

Approximately 1.2 million vehicles in the United States, 88,000 in Canada, and 16,000 in Mexico are included in the recall.

Honda has previously extended the warranty for affected vehicles and has received over 270,000 warranty claims related to this issue without any reports of injuries or fatalities.

As part of the recall, dealers will install an improved cable harness and a straightening cover to ensure proper connection between the audio display unit and the vehicle terminal connections.
