Selangor Announces June 30 Holiday For Civil Staffs Only

The Selangor government has agreed to grant an additional holiday for state civil servants on Friday, in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidiladha.

State secretary Dato’ Haris Kasim said the decision was made taking into consideration that the celebration will fall on Thursday.

He added that the declaration by the state government is in line with the Holidays Act 1951.

“This extra holiday is specifically meant for civil servants in state government’s departments and agencies, as well as local councils,” he said in a statement today.

“Statutory bodies, state government subsidiaries, and the private sector are not subjected to this directive. It is up to the respective employers to decide, in accordance with the Employment Act 955.”
