Sunview Group Berhad’s (Sunview) wholly-owned subsidiary, Fabulous Sunview Sdn Bhd has inked a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Yayasan Hijau Malaysia to jointly undertake a sustainability campaign known as “17 Shades of Green” (Campaign) to engage and support business-to-business companies in Malaysia in achieving their respective sustainability goals.
This would be in line with United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (“SDG”) number 17, namely “partnerships for the goals”, as well as contributing to the environmental conservations in Malaysia.
Sunview, a prominent renewable energy player principally involved in engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (EPCC) and related activities, while (YHM), an agency under the Ministry of Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change, primarily focusing on empowering and educating the general public on sustainable developments.
YHM will act as a strategic partner and facilitator with relevant stakeholders of the Campaign while Sunview will be the Campaign organiser and B2B development partner.
Sunview chief executive officer & executive director Ong Hang Ping said, “The strategic partnership with YHM will act as a launchpad for the Campaign where our vision is aligned with SDG number 17, emphasising on the importance of partnerships in achieving sustainability.
“We aim to empower B2B in Malaysia to implement sustainable practices to combat climate change through transition to green energy and technologies. This creates a win-win situation for the environment and the B2B involved as they are entitled to green tax reliefs while combating climate change, which is in line with the goal achieved. B2B will also be able to showcase their sustainability commitments with their participations in the Campaign.”
