Citadel Capital Appoints Seasoned Banker As New CEO

Citadel Capital has appointed Encik Md Harris bin Md Taib, as its new Chief Executive Officer. With over 27 years of experience in the financial services industry, the group said he will be responsible for driving the firm’s growth strategy, delivering the best investment results for their clients, raising the level of customer satisfaction and governance.

Prior to joining Citadel Capital, Harris had forayed into various fields of finance, including corporate finance, investment banking, corporate banking, debt restructuring, and offshore banking. He has also worked at multiple financial institutions, including Standard Chartered Bank Malaysia, Maybank Investment Bank, and Export-Import Bank of Malaysia. “We are thrilled to welcome Harris to Citadel Capital,” said Dato’ Jeff S. Medina, Citadel Group Chief Executive Officer. “With his extensive experience in the financial services industry, we are confident that he will provide strong leadership and help us continue to deliver value to our clients”

Being an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA-UK) and a Chartered Accountant of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA), Harris is also well positioned to ensure compliance and governance. His previous roles in Pembangunan Ekuiti, as a Non Executive Director, and his last role as a Senior Specialist, Structured Finance, Wholesale Banking at Kanbawza Bank Limited in Myanmar gives him a well-rounded knowledge of the finance industry, domestically and abroad. Currently, Harris is also serving as a member of the Board of Directors for Pembangunan Ekuiti Sdn Bhd, a Venture Capital Management Company registered with the Securities Commission of Malaysia.
