Bursa Ends Morning Session In Negative Territory

Bursa Malaysia ended the morning trading session in negative territory on Tuesday (Aug 1), dragged down by selling of selected heavyweight stocks, led by the financial services and plantation sectors.

At 12.30pm, the FBM KLCI had fallen by 5.57 points to 1,453.86, from 1,459.43 at Monday’s close.

The key index opened 0.53 of a point weaker at 1,458.90, and fluctuated between 1,453.0 and 1,462.56 throughout the morning session.

On the broader market, losers outpaced gainers 485 to 282, while 423 counters were unchanged, 1,075 untraded, and 17 others suspended.

Turnover stood at 2.26 billion units worth RM882.05 million.
