MOH Offered 619 Doctors Permanent Positions In Sarawak

The Health Ministry has offered permanent positions to 619 doctors in Sarawak, said Deputy Health Minister Lukanisman Awang Sauni.

He said 395 doctors have reported for duty, 50 have rejected the offer, and 70 have yet to respond.

“The permanent roles were offered to overcome the shortage of doctors in government hospitals and clinics in the state,” he said during a visit to the Siburan Health Clinic construction site in Pekan Siburan here today.

Lukanisman said the project is to be completed by October, with the facility set to start operating next year.

He said repairs at six out of 36 dilapidated clinics in Sarawak are complete. The repairs involve an allocation of RM8.5 million.

“By December, we are confident these projects will be complete and we can add more dilapidated clinics to the list for 2024,” he said.
